Following the six-month Examination of Anglian Water’s Development Consent Order (DCO) application for the proposed Waste Water Treatment Plant for Greater Cambridge, the Examining Authority has confirmed the Examination phase has closed.

On 28 April 2023, Anglian Water submitted their application for a DCO to the Planning Inspectorate, who acts on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The DCO application was accepted for Examination by the Planning Inspectorate on 24 May 2023 and the Examination opened 17 October 2023.

Following the close of the Examination Phase, the Examining Authority now has three months to write its recommendation report to the relevant Secretary of State. The Secretary of State then reviews the report and makes the final decision. They have three months to make a decision, which is expected in October.
